After having both smoked and vaporized herb, I’ve learned that marijuana vaporizers are much better at conserving cannabis than traditional smoking methods.
AVB (Already Vaped Bud)
The first step is to conserve your vaporized weed! This becomes especially important if you have a VaporGenie or any other portable vaporizer, I find that not all the THC is released. Because of this, I recommend that you save your vaporized bud, as there is a number of things you can do with it.
The first thing that most people do is make edibles. If you’re using vaporized marijuana to make edibles, then a good rule of thumb is to double the amount of marijuana required in the recipe. if you’re using vaped bud. Since vaporized marijuana is not as potent as its unvaporized counterpart, using more will even out the measurements.
Secondly, a large number of people find that they prefer to create hash rather than cook their vaporized cannabis. If you’d like to make hash with your vaporized weed, I suggest using the ISO method to best extract THC. If you’d like to do an ISO wash of your vaporized bud, then make sure to have at least 10 grams of vaporized bud or more. In my experience, an ISO wash of 14g of vaporized bud (at 220C) yields about two grams of usable hash. This hash can be then put into your vaporizer, and can get you a huge amount of hits for the volume.
If you’re like me and have a desktop vaporizer such as the Arizer Extreme Q, then you’re able to achieve much more consistent temperatures and therefore can conserve your marijuana even better. Personally, I like to vaporize my cannabis at 220C, and then save the remnants when I’m finished. When I’m finished with a bowl at this temperature, I save the vaporized weed in order to use later.
Once I no longer have any green bud, I set my Extreme Q temperature to 255C, and proceed to re-vaporize the bud I had used previously. Using this method, I find that I’m able to have about two bowls to equal one bowl of green herb. I find the effect is even more pronounced when I use my vaporized cannabis from my VaporGenie, since it doesn’t get as hot as the Extreme Q.
